Expectations

Expectation is a word that carries with it many thoughts. Webster defined it as "to look forward". Christine and I are expectant of the arrival of a brand new life into this world in only a few more days (19 as of today). Growing up as a child and even as an adult the word expectation has many ideas that come along with it. I was thinking back today to all the things that I was expectant of as a kid. Here are just a few
1) Getting a brand new bike.
2) Passing my scuba certification.
3) My first sparing lesson in Tae-Kwon-Do.
4) Getting ready to go into high school.
5) Graduating college.
6) Santa arriving (yes I still believe)

Each of the items I listed were fun to look forward to but those things are nothing compared to the expectant heart Christine and I have for our new little girl. We are praying for her and expectant of her arrival. Even though we our expectant of our new little girl God is even more expectant in bringing her into the world as a gift to us.

I have also been thinking about some things that God is expectant of.
1) He is expectant of our arrival in heaven one day.
2) He was expectant for me to discover the joy he has planned for me each day.
3) He is expectant to show love to his children.
4) He is expectant to answer our prayers.
5) He is expectant to show off in our lives.
6) He is expectant to send Jesus Christ for his church.
7) He is expectant to offer the gift of salvation to those who do not even know they need it.
8) He is expecant to heal those that need healing.

In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation. Psalm 5:3
