NEWS

So we have been a little bad...we have shared this news with a lot of people, but we have failed to share it on our blog. WE ARE EXPECTING!!! We are expecting out second child, and yes he/she is due in February. God's timing is best and I guess that he thought that we needed another February baby. Our due date is February 7, 2012, but we are planning a repeat c-section and thus can choose the baby's birthday. We are currently going to have out little bundle of joy on Friday February 3, 2012. I am so excited. It is nice to know when you will have a baby.

So, with that said, we are currently 12 weeks and 3 days along. I feel great - for the most part. I am gaining a lot more weight initially with this pregnancy than with Brenna, but I also weighed 10 pounds less to start with. If I look at my weight with Brenna, I am par for the course. At about this time with B I was about 131 pounds. At my last visit on Monday I was 130 pounds. Kinda funny - at least in my mind. Last pregnancy, the baby's (Brenna's) heart beat was 165 beats per minute at out first "belly check" appointment (about 12 weeks). This go around is similar, the baby's heart beat was 160 beats per minute on Monday. Is it another girl???

Second pregnancies are so different. I think that I look pregnant already. My butt is getting bigger, my thighs are getting bigger, and my belly is starting to pooch a bit. I am not really sick or nauseated unless I try to cook any type of meat, but especially chicken. Shawn is having to do a lot of food preparation and we are eating out more than normal. Brenna doesn't mind this in the least as she gets chick-fil-a on a more regular basis.

Shawn and I are still really active (at least for now). We are training for a half marathon that we are planning on completing in late September. We are running on TEAM ZOE. We are running with a group of family and friends that are coming together to support Julie (Zoe's Mom) as she is running the 1/2 with the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to raise support and awareness for leukemia - Zoe was diagnosed about 6 months ago and is currently in remission, but has to complete another 2 years of chemo treatments.

Brenna is so excited that there is a baby in mommy's tummy. Some days she kisses my belly and on others, she pretends that there is a baby in her tummy too. She already was supper nurturing to her baby dolls, but she has stepped it up a notch the past few weeks - offers them her milk and paci and blanket to make them feel good. How cute and how loving. If this is any indication of what type of big sister she will be - we are in luck!

I think that is all of the exciting news that I have for you at this time. Know that we love you and hope to see you and hug you soon.

Love,
Christine (and the rest of the Callander clan)
